SPV have recently completed the external refurbishment of the Odeon Cinema, Glasgow Quay. The 12 week project involved the removal of the existing facades and signage and the installation of a new steel frame and cladding to the brick towers and steel frame. The Cinema remained in operation throughout the contract as a crash deck scaffold was erected in the first instance to segregate the works from the public. All works were carried out in house including the installation of the steelwork frame by means of our SPV crane lorry and the working platform scaffold erected to carry out the works. The existing facade was first dismantled along with the steel frame and sign. A new steel frame was then erected to the front elevation of the Cinema and the steel frame and brick towers were over clad using Ash and Lacy Alucobond silver cladding along with Eternit pelicolor cladding in a blue colour to match Odeon branding. Finally, Dura composite egg crating was fixed to the steel frame above the boards and all associated flashings and cappings were installed.
