Bosch / Miskin Cardiff

SPV were awarded the Contract for the overlaying of the roof area in excess of 30,000m2 at the Robert Bosch alternator Manufacturing Plant in Cardiff using FDT single ply roofing membrane.

The material used was FDT Rheapnaol fk which is an environmentally friendly single ply membrane made from Polyisobutylene with a synthetic fleece backing and an integrated self sealing edge.

An ethos of partnership and openness between SPV, The Client and the Supplier was the hallmark of success for a project which was one of the biggest re-roofing projects completed to date with this material in the UK.

The works were completed within the strict 12 week time frame. The plant had also been operating on 24/7 production, 7 days a week since it opened n 1991 and all works were completed without any disruption to the 24/7 production of alternators, despite the adverse weather conditions which were encountered.
