Services: Cladding & Facias

SPV carry out all types of cladding works including over cladding works, the supply and installation of fascias and soffits and the formation of new canopies.

The materials we use include stainless steel, plastisol, copper and zinc among others.

As well as dramatically improving the aesthetics of a building and the surrounding environment, refurbishment projects are very often more economical even when the complete building envelpe needs replacing.

The following case studies document a number of cladding projects which SPV have
recently completed.

 

Cladding & Facias projects:

Odeon, Dudley

SPV carried out cladding works at The Odeon Cinema, Dudley as part of the Odeon Cinemas re-branding project. The Cinema was previously a UCI Cinema and SPV were asked to bring the Cinema in line with Odeon Cinema’s corporate image. The existing structure was removed, a new flat roof was installed and a new aeroplane wing flashing was designed by SPV then erected to the entrance area of the Cinema. This provided a more appealing and eye catching entrance to the Cinema, altered the entire look of the building and visually brought the Cinema in line with the Odeon brand.

Mecca Bingo & Grosvenor Casino, Bolton

SPV designed, supplied and erected the towers, soffits and front facades at the Mecca Bingo/ Grosvenor Casino, Bolton. Rank Group Gaming Division asked SPV to refurbish the front entrance of the former Sainsburys store into a fresh, modern and inviting Bingo Club and Casino. The purpose made curved, insulated aluminum panels to the towers and insulated aluminum panels to the soffits and the front facade transformed the look of the building and created a striking entrance to the new Mecca Bingo Club and Grosvenor Casino. The project also involved the renewal of the flat roof to the building using high performance torch on roofing felt.

Holiday Inn, Rugby - Northampton

SPV carried out the renewal of the front and side elevation fascias at The Holiday Inn Hotel Rugby/ Northampton. The new fascias were supplied and installed in line with Holiday Inn branding to refurbish the front entrance of the Hotel. The project also involved the formation of the new entrance area to the Hotel including he supplying and fitting of new paving slabs, a new handrail and balustrade, a new patio reen and various tiling and brickwork works.

Syndicate Nightclub, Bristol

SPV installed the new cladding panels at The Syndicate Nighclub, Bristol. The cladding panels were specially sourced to match the cladding panels at another of the Clients properties to fall in line with the Company Branding. The silver cladding panels updated the look of the building to provide an aesthetically pleasing finish to the City Centre building for the opening of the new Nightclub.

Odeon Cinema, Tamworth

SPV have recently completed the external refurbishment of the Odeon Cinema, Tamworth, Staffordshire. The existing glazed canopy was removed and a new steel canopy was installed along with a new bullnose flashing and all associated flashings and details.

Park Inn Hotel, West Bromwich

SPV Group have recently carried out cladding works at The Park Inn Hotel, West Bromwich as instructed by Confluence Project Managers. The brickwork with ceramic tiling between the windows to the front elevation and centre section of the Hotel was beginning to crumble and break and was presneting a health and safety issue for the Hotel. New white PVF 2 cladding panels were bonded to plywood for strength and were then installed along with all associated cill side and headed flashings by means of scissor lifts and a mobile elevated work platform.

Odeon Cinema, Glasgow Quay,

SPV have recently completed the external refurbishment of the Odeon Cinema, Glasgow Quay. The 12 week project involved the removal of the existing facades and signage and the installation of a new steel frame and cladding to the brick towers and steel frame. The Cinema remained in operation throughout the contract as a crash deck scaffold was erected in the first instance to segregate the works from the public. All works were carried out in house including the installation of the steelwork frame by means of our SPV crane lorry and the working platform scaffold erected to carry out the works. The existing facade was first dismantled along with the steel frame and sign. A new steel frame was then erected to the front elevation of the Cinema and the steel frame and brick towers were over clad using Ash and Lacy Alucobond silver cladding along with Eternit pelicolor cladding in a blue colour to match Odeon branding. Finally, Dura composite egg crating was fixed to the steel frame above the boards and all associated flashings and cappings were installed.

Iceland Finaghy Road, Belfast

SPV have recently completed the over cladding works at The Iceland Frozen Foods Store, Finaghy Road, Belfast. A new support bar system was fixed through the existing sheeting and was laid in a grid then a glass fibre quilt insulation was laid between the support bars on stick pins. New 0.7 plastisol coated steel sheets were then fixed to the support bar using tek screws and washers. The works are covered by a 10 Year Insurance backed Warranty at the request of the Client.

Mecca Bingo Club, Camden

SPV Group have recently completed the external refurbishment of the Mecca Bingo Club, Camden, London. The existing tiles were battended out then new tile effect cladding sheets were securely fixed to create a terrecota tile effect finish. The new cladding sheets created both an updated and a striking finish to the front elevation of the Bingo Club.

Seventh Day Adventist Church, Manchester

SPV are currently undertaking the refurbishment of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Manchester. The contract involves roofing works, cladding works and the replcement of both windows and the doors to the building. Piz panels are being installed to all elevations of the building to provide a sleek, modern look to the building. The roof is being overlayed using a cut to falls insulation system and a single ply roofing membrane. The existing timber windows are being replaced with new plastic windows and the existing timber door is being replaced with a new upvc double door.
